Obituary of Mitch Nygren

Mitch L. Nygren, 49, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Cambridge Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1960 in St. Croix Falls, WI to Lowell and Rhoda (Pepper) Nygren. Mitch was an avid fisherman, wonderful husband, loving father who enjoyed his family and family gatherings. He enjoyed each moment when he was with you, and you knew how he felt about you, because he would let you know at that exact moment. He cherished his many family traditions such as playing the croquet "Butterworth Cup" which was a yearly tradition where the cow shirt would come out and the tournament would begin. The St. Croix River was his favorite spot, "We will always remember the moments of life on the river". There were countless fish of every type caught; his personal favorite was the "almighty walleye". He was a hands on father, being there for his boys was always important to him, from picking them up to teaching them how to be patient with fishing, hunting and golfing. As long as he was with his boys he would say "I'm a happy man". Now he gives them traditions to pass on for the rest of their lives even after he is gone " Thank you dad, "We love you". Mitch recently found his personal savior Jesus Christ in March of this year and was on a new path of life. He stated "I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in the future". He stated in the past few weeks, "I love my family, my boys, I'm happy and very peaceful". He believed communication in life was so important. He was preceded in death by his father Lowell Nygren, sister Colette Degendorfer, son Daniel M. Nygren, and grandson Tyler James Nygren. Mitch is survived by his wife Anita Christine Nygren, sons Christopher and wife Rebecca Culley, Matt Nygren, Aaron Nygren, Ryan Nygren, two granddaughters Emma and Kirey, mother Rhoda Nygren, brothers Mark and wife Rina Nygren, Kurt Nygren, Casey and wife Valerie Nygren, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We will remember all the little and big moments we shared with Mitch as a husband, a dad, a son, a brother and a friend. Thank you from us all that you were a great witness to our life, we will surely hold it dear to our hearts. Anita and the family would like to extend a warm felt thank you for all of the love and support provided by so many family and friends at a most difficult time.
