Obituary of Michael Nelson

Michael Levon Nelson, 42, of Dalbo, MN formerly of Mayville, ND passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 26, 2007 at Fairview-Southdale Hospital. He was born October 6, 1964 in Fargo, North Dakota to Levon and Sharon (Egge) Nelson. Mike grew up in Mayville and graduated from May-Port High School in 1982. He went on to receive a degree in Mechanical Design at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for a time at Aerosystems Engineering. Mike would go on to start his own company Nelson Technical Services. The last 12 years he has worked for Caterpillar Paving in Osseo. On September 7, 1991 he was united in marriage to Theresa Quigley at the Church of St. Joseph in Lino Lakes. They made their home in Lino Lakes until building a home in Dalbo eight years ago. Mike was a member of the Dalbo Fire Department for the past seven years and was also a member of the Church of St. Paul in Ham Lake. He loved hunting, especially bow hunting. He was very handy, could fix anything and enjoyed tinkering with everything. He even built their home in Dalbo. Mike enjoyed his family and was a devoted husband and father. He had survived cancer for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Christ and Elene Egge, Bernhard and Alvhild Nelson, father-in-law Walter P.J. Quigley. Mike is survived by his loving wife Terri and their beloved children Ryan, Mikayla, Benjamin, Emily and Peter all of Dalbo, parents Levon and Sharon Nelson of Mayville, ND, sisters Kerry and husband Mike Clancy of Mayville, ND, Naomi and husband Bret Skalsky of LaPorte, TX, Sara and husband Gerry Lovro of Mayville, ND, mother-in-law Rose Mary Quigley of Dalbo, sisters-in-law Kathy Quigley of Denver, CO, Maureen Quigley of St. Louis, MO, brother-in-law Matt and wife Dana Quigley of Denver, CO, nieces and godchildren Alyssa and Anna Clancy, nieces and nephews John Clancy, Travis Skalsky, Grace Lovro, Claire Lovro, and Isabella Quigley, as well as many other relatives and friends.
