Obituary of Maynard Jennen

Maynard Edwin Jennen of Cambridge, MN, died on Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at Grace Pointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 80. Maynard was born on November 12th, 1931, to Martin and Gladys Jennen. He was born at home in Hillhead, South Dakota, and was one of 11 children. Maynard worked on the family farm until joining the Marines in 1951. He proudly served his country in Korea and was honorably discharged on November 13th, 1954. Following his discharge from the Marine Corps, Maynard worked at Alumacraft Boat Company in Minneapolis as a spray painter when he met his future wife Sharon Lee Lisbeth Youngberg. Maynard and Sharon were married at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN on August 17th, 1957. They moved to Brooklyn Park, MN and had four children. Maynard continued working as a spray painter at several large companies and moved the family to Cambridge in 1976, while working for Litton Industries in Minneapolis. He then worked for EPC in Mora, MN until retiring in 1997. Because Maynard was a man who could not be still, He continued to work even after retirement at More4 in Cambridge and then at Walmart in Cambridge. He was loved and respected by so many friends and co-workers over the years because he always had a smile and a joke. Maynard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Jennen of Cambridge MN, Four children, Terry (Art) McIntyre of Coon Rapids, Mn, Julie Austin of Cambridge, MN, Steve (Anne) Jennen of Edina, MN, Kellie (Dan) McFarlane of Braham, MN, 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany, Cassie (Scooter), Justin, Angie, Katelyn (Katie), Johnny, Mary, Martin, Charles, and Henry, and 6 Great Grandchildren, Brendan, Hayden, Serenity, Vincent, Bryce, and Luca. He is also survived by his brother, Leonard Jennen of Mesa, AZ and sisters, Helen Campbell of Great Falls, MT and Anna Hansen of Arizona. Maynard was a Much Loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He will be missed by so many people, both family and friends. He always had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone he came in contact with. He was very proud of his service to his country and of his wife and family. Maynard will live in the hearts and memories of many, many, many people.
