I'm very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was an old friend that I haven't seen in many years. He and I and Dwaine Larson used to have a lot of fun together at Barr's Pavilion on Spectacle Lake.May God grant all of his family peace and strength to deal with the difficult days ahead.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ronnies passing. Alan and I both have so many fond memories of our trips to Cambridge to visit Uncle's Axel and Bill, Ray, and of course Aunt Martha. I have still never had better fried chicken or cream puffs, although in later years, Nancy's were almost as good. I will always remember the month I stayed with Aunt Martha when I was about seven, it must have been 1950. I had the best time playing with my bigger cousins Ronnie and Paul, Nancy and younger cousin Russie. I still remember Axel and Bill taking all of us to Wisconsin to pick blueberries, and of them showing us bear tracks close by the blueberry bushes. I don't know if they really were bear tracks, but of course I believed everything they told me. I think they also took us to the big fair in Cambridge. Of course the highlight of every day would be to go to the little store next door. I can't remember the name of it, but only can remember calling it the Walbo store. It had everything a youngster needed, from pop to BB's to .22 shells. I think we would get 2 cents for an empty pop bottle, and a new bottle would be a nickle or a dime. I also developed my love of pheasant hunting going with my dad, uncles, and cousins. Hunting wasn't the greatest, but just being a part of the group was undefined a kid could hope for. Many years later, living in Iowa, I used those skills in some of the best pheasant hunting areas of the United States. One trip I remember the right of passage of shooting a 12 gauge shotgun for the first time. Ronnie being the oldest of us cousins told me to hold it tight when I pulled the trigger. He was always helping us little kids out. It was my dad's Model 12 pump, which he had bought new in 1939. I used that for many years and now my son, Sean, has it. He also has a love of hunting, which much run in the Anderson family, as I know how much Ronnie love to hunt. I look back on that month as one of the best times of my life. Moving away from Minnesota after college, I wasn't able to see much of Ronnie, but I will always remember him as being my older cousin who I always looked up to. My prayers go to Caroline and all the children in this time of sorrow. I'm sorry I can't make it back for the service, but I want you to know I will be there in sprit. Verlin and Barb Anderson
