Obituary of Jimmy A. Lindberg
Jimmy (Jim) A. Lindberg, age 63, of Cambridge, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015. Jim was born on April 21, 1952 in Braham, Minnesota to Wilbert and Dorothy Lindberg. As a result of Wilbert’s work, Jim lived in several locations growing up before the family planted roots in Grandy, Minnesota. Jim was proud of the fact that he went to a one-room school in Grandy prior to attending Cambridge High School. It was at Cambridge High School that Jim met the love of his life, Connette (Connie) Fredlund, as a result of playing guitar in a band with her brother Doug. After high school, Jim graduated from St. Cloud State and attended William Mitchell Law School. Jim and Connie were married on June 15, 1974. After law school, Jim and Connie made their home in Cambridge, Minnesota when Jim returned to practice law. Jim continued to practice law in Cambridge for the rest of his life. For the last few months of his life Jim enjoyed no longer being the boss and working for his son Grant at Lindberg Law Office, P.A. Jim took great pride in his family that he raised with Connie. Together they had three children, Grant, Anna and Jennifer. One of Jim’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren, Audriana, Arturo, Brendan, Elliott and Chloe.
Beyond his family, Jim loved collecting Model A Fords and their accessories. Jim spent a substantial amount of time working at the Blue Shed in Grandy on various car projects with his father, Wilbert. He bought his first Model A Ford before he was 16 and his second on the day he graduated from High School. Recently that second car was used by Jim and Connie on a once and lifetime trip to Maine for a national Model A tour. Jim loved to travel taking many family vacations to Walt Disney World, trips to California to visit the Gades, weekend road trips to the other side of the country to pick up a recent car related purchase, trips to various national Model A conventions, goose hunting trips, and fishing trips to Canada. Jim and Connie also made it a point to take annual getaways in the recent years. Growing up Jim loved playing baseball and fast pitch softball starting with the Grandy Indians and the Bluejackets. Jim loved the Minnesota Twins and was proud of the fact he attended all three All-Star Games held in Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Connie Lindberg, son Grant (Korey) Lindberg and daughters Anna (Arturo) Barcenas and Jennifer (Chris) Sayavong, grandchildren Brendan and Elliott Lindberg, Audriana and Arturo Barcenas, and Chloe Sayavong.
