I only just learned of Christie's death. I am so sorry for your loss. Christie was an awesome woman who loved life. I worked with her for 10 years at Mercy Hospital and we did keep in touch a few years after. She talked about her family constantly - sometimes with great humor but mostly with great pride. She will be truly missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to all her family. Kathy Spartz

Dear Emily, Anne, Ben and Penny:
I was shocked and saddened to see Christy's death notice today. I remember meeting her, Emily, Anne and Penny, on your return from PEI a couple times. What a special lady she was. You must miss her terribly. May the precious memories you have of her help comfort you at this sad and difficult time.

I met Christy through my sister Pam Columbus. I am deeply saddened by Christy's passing and send my sympathy especially to Penny, Ben, Emily and Anne. As I write this I fondly recall Christy's endless magnificent smile and laughter. I also recall Christy's wonderful Christmas cookies packaged in tin cans that Pam generously shared with our family. The last time I saw Christy was at our family gathering as a send off to Pam and Dave when they moved to Montana. Christy brought along one of her grandsons. When I saw Christy that day I recall thinking she hadn't changed a bit although now she was a grandmother. For a moment, it felt as though we were all in our 20s again.

My sorrow is only overcome by my shock at Christy's death. My heart aches for her family, many friends and her huge Lucy Maude Montgomery family. I have fond memories of being in Leaskdale about four years ago and sitting for lunch with Christy and Emily. May the strength of your faith sustain all of you. With compassion and caring, Beverley Hayden

Those of us in the "Montgomery Circle" will always remember your mother. I can still visualize her giving a talk at the LMM Institute meetings because of her boundless enthusiasm, her sense of humour, and her endless enterprise in locating items she wanted. She really was a remarkable person -- it is hard to imagine that a person with such vitality could be silenced, but I'm sure that your memories, and ours, will always keep her alive.
I really feel for you, her children, and her mother, for the shock you have had. I had a sudden parental loss the week before I began my very first real teaching job, and I can imagine what it is like for you. I hope you will find comfort in knowing how widely your mom was appreciated and loved by others. She was a very generous person with a personality larger than life, and her impact was immense.

Enjoy Karl so much, I regret never having met Christy. She sounds like an enthusiast of life with a love for sharing and showing. God bless the family she leaves behind with many great memories and the knowledge that she got the most out of every day she shared with you on earth. You will be together again!

The obituary was absolutely perfect. Enthusiasm is the perfect word to describe Christy. I don't think I ever once saw her with anything but a smile on her face. I remember growing up and going to the Woster's during the holidays and Christy was always so full of energy and happiness. She would cook entirely too much food, all of which would make Julia Child proud, and make sure everyone left full and happy. She was so kind to our entire family. Thoughts and prayers to her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to have met her. Christmas won't be quite the same without her amazing cookies.
