Bernice was my piano teacher for several years -- she was patient with me even when I didn't practice. Many years before that Bernice and my mom Dorothy Gerdin worked at the Rush City schools. They stayed good friends throughout the years until mom's passing in 2009. My son Rudy and I would visit her at the nursing home bringing her fresh berries or homemade goodies. She was a joy in our lives.
Mrs. Anderson, Bernice was a gentle caring teacher of piano to all three of our daughters (Kirsten, Keri and Katie) during the late '80s and early '90s. My life was blessed in knowing her as well as listening to her share her musical talents. I pray your memories bring you joy as you experience the peace and comfort from God.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bernie's family and friends!!! I have peace and JOY in my heart knowing how strongly she KNEW where she was going and oh, how she must be celebrating and rejoicing with her LORD! You will be dearly missed here on earth dear Bernie--the pain is real. I am excited to have known how you looked forward to meeting your Lord and Savior and how joyfilled and at peace you must be now. I will think of you often and I will MISS you, Thank you for touching my life!

My deepest sympathies go out to Bernice's friends and family. When Bernice came to Grace Pointe, I took care of her as an nursing assistant on her very first day there. Eventually I would become her nurse. We shared many conversations about her family and her love of classical music. I taught violin and she always remembered that about me, even if weeks had gone by without seeing me. She was a dear woman and will be missed by many.
